I have just purchased Phoenix gold Octane R17cm components and I am wondering how the hell you fit them. I have the 17cm autoleads adapter but the problem is the wiring. I already have my current door speakers (co-axials) linked to an amp in the boot, however the instructions say that both the woofers and tweeters have to be connected to the amp using the same channel. There are no box crossovers (if that makes sense) but there is small block on the tweeter wire, is this the crossover?
I am just wondering if I can just run the woofer from the amp and cut into it in the door to run the tweeter.
I don't want to run another wire down the car to the amp.

If this is not possible then I will send them back and get components with a box crossover which I can put inside the door.

Any ideas.

You should just be able to piggy back it off the woofer

The instructions say that I have to wire the tweeter and woofer to the amp using the same channel. I was wondering if I could just take a feed off the woofer wire to power the tweeter i.e.

Yes that is possible, as i said you should just be able to piggy back off the woofer, there are usually two sets of terminals on there. One set is the input from the amp, the other you can connect the tweeter to.
