Alarm systems might not be compatible with ADSL, but that would be detected by BT when they do the line-test during the order-process. So if you've already passed this and had BT (and your ISP) confirm the order, then you're okay.

But, seriously Ojc, why AOL?

Munchie, you either have to buy a little white plug and terminate the line yourself, but i reccomend you call out the ADT engineers to do it if its hardwired. Just ring the 0870 number u got and they should come out same day.

Dan B, BT's line test wont pick up the ADT alarm. All the telephone module does is monitor the phone line when on standby and when armed, and dials out when triggered, or when ADT send updates through, such as remote resets or firmware.

All that needs to be done is to have a new style master box fitted that has a filter built in so it can be hard wired to that, or you can just by a white connector, terminate it yourself, and plug it into a microfilter.

I've had BT line-tests pick up alarm-systems before (I work in ADSL Tech Support), but then again, I guess it depends on the kind of alarm-system installed at the premises...

yup some systems monitor rings/line use ect but ADT alarms only monitor the voltage and requests from the adt centre. and only dial out when they need to.
