As i am a loner i ditched my pay monthly contract. Stuck with my S3 and got a PAYG sim. Had the phone since it came out and left it as it came out the box.
Is there things i can do to make it better? Notice its a bit slow these days and keyboard spazzes out a lot.
What is all this rooting stuff? What can it do? Do i need to buy anything?

Rooting fucks it more imo.
SwiftKey keyboard is pretty good.

3CorsaMeal - Rooting isn't going to make your phone any 'quicker'; you'd be better off looking at using Apps like Greenify to help free up resources or look at flashing different ROMs for the phone (opting for something that's more vanilla Android and ditching TouchWiz will probably help 'speed' up the phone).

never had an iphone, but tried using a guys at work, was a new model and i was trying to tap a box so i could type in it, i'd have to tap the screen about 12 times before it did what i wanted, i thought it was extremely bad, they can't all be like that though.

Would adding a memory card help?
Flashing differents ROMs? that doesn't mean anything to me

you have no mem card in it? yes bang on in and copy your pictures and videos to the card only. Need to keep the phone as free as possible from data on it to speed things up.
Might be selling my S5 soon if you fancy it haha
