It's taken 9 weeks to go through...which is too long considering there's no chain! Anyway, we're there now.

No more photos due to it being taken down from RightMove already, but the interior is all nice and tidy.

White walls in every room apart from the bathroom (which is fully tiled), new carpet in every room. Tiled flooring in the kitchen and laminate in the hallway.

More pics to follow

Had fun with the boiler today Turns out that the fan had seized due to it not being used for long time (it's been empty for at least 4 months)...and the water in the system is as black as the mid-night sky!

Picking a van up tomorrow to start moving our shit

End of the 9th week for us, still no idea when contracts will be exchanged.

Solicitors, useless bunch, the lot of them.

Our solicitor was a retard. Could have easily been done and dusted within 6 weeks Max. She couldn't keep track of her paper work so it would seem, and she only pushed people to get things done when I pushed her.

When we started the purchase I told myself that I wasn't going to nag her too much (due to the fear of me kissing her off to the point where she sat back on it), but in hindsight....I wish I'd have moaned at her daily.

Just been back to measure some stuff up ready for our move over the next few days.

Same for us. These people were quick enough to take our money, but ask them to spell "Davies" correctly on a form....

We keep being told "next week" whenever we chased a date to exchange. Mrs now chases them every day, we'd be so far behind if she didn't do that.

Pisses me off all the letter writing.

Instead of just firing off an email like a normal person, they seem to take a day to decide what to request, a day (or two) for the letter to go through the post, 2/3 days at the other end to formulate a response, and a day or that to be returned in the post. Strip all that out and it could be sorted in 48 hours rather than a week.

the thing that pisses me off is not asking for everything in one go

i was asked for 3 months wage slips, then 2 weeks later asked for a breakdown of my monthly expenditure

Oh my...I ache.

After a broken nights sleep last night possibly caused by sleeping on a mattress in the living room of the house we're moving out of (the room resembles something you'd see in trainspotting at the moment), I've woke up with my arms and let's killing me!

More stuff to move today...which will be fun.

I wish my move took 9 weeks, curently on week 15 with no exchange date yet!

Considering i'm mioving out of my parents house into an ex-rental so literally no chain in sight!

Took us 6 weeks from putting an offer in. The vendor wanted a quick sale and were pushing at their end. Our solicitor is actually a client of mine - he's very laid back but also puts the hours in.

We moved in last Saturday. It's hard work but worth it in the end.

Best of luck to you and your misses!
