Anyone know any cheap (legit) places to obtain a key for this? Not interested in torrents or anything like that, not for the OS at least.

If not, and MS is the only way to go, fair enough.

I run on an unactivated OS and it doesnt shut down or bitch. You just get a watermark

Win8.1 OEM is around £70, unlikely you'll get it much cheaper.
