Maybe FAO Lee, but others may also know.

No Central heating, there was hot water but that had gone when I arrived.

I managed to get hot water working, may have been a fluke. I was bleeding the system via I black
Handle, which was raising pressure. Then the flame kick started and hot water was there! I had hoped
This cured heating issues but apparently not.

Does anybody have any ideas before
I have to pay out for somebody?

Thanks!!

Combi? If so you were filling it up, which was raising the pressure, not bleeding it.

it shouldn't be going up to 3.5. On this occasion, I'd wait until someone who knows what they are doing can take a look.

Should normally be at around 2.0-2.5, believe 3.5 is too high and a safety will kick in and shut it down again.

That's from experience of my combi

All new to me, and don't worry I'm not risking anything dangerous haha!

It sits around 2.8 bar comfortably, hot water working fine now. Just no heating.

I know
Could call somebody, but if I can save a call out of Xmas if
Prefer to. I'm pretty hands on person, just have no experience or knowledge of boilers, that's why I'm asking for advice

Do you have a wall control unit? Mines on the wall next to the boiler, mine has a boost button which I've used in the past with previous issues and it's kicked the heating back on.

Are the pipes to the radiators warm?? You may have air in the system which a quick radiator bleed should sort

Diverted valve or something maybe. You will need a pro to check it out though. Plus they aren't cheap to guess the fix!

I took the front case off my boiler and checked all the elec connections were tight/seated when it stopped working once. Did the trick that time!

No control unit, I also haven't checked the pipes as I don't live there, I'm the landlord

Thanks for advice, these are all things I can ask
Him to check tomorrow, so please keep the ideas coming

From what I've been told, diverter valve would mean it works other way. I.e no hot water but working heating.

Not if its stuck the other way.

Especially if its an actual paying tenant you'll need a plumber. Can't be guessing at a boiler when it's not your own.

My diverter valve is fucked . Tap with a small hammer usually sorts it out .

If you are a landlord take responsibility and get a plumber in to get it sorted asap and properly.

I am taking responsibility, that's why I've bed round once.

It's an issue with settings rather than anything else.

Tenants are warm, and fine so trying to fix without doing a call out over Xmas.

Probably is a settings thing but if you 'bled' the system until you hit the pressure relief valve, you should maybe not be touching any settings.

Set the clock. It's prob flashing 12.00 based on that pic.

Someone obv had the power off. Happens quite regularly.

Pressure should be between 1.0-1.5 running it like that your going to end up causing more damage
