I have never owned any fish and know little about them, however, I know there are a few of you on here that know your stuff. I could just google about fish but rather than wade through crap I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of a useful source of info.

All help is appreciated.

All depends on what you are looking at keeping?

I used www.fishforums.net when I used to keep tropical, Will pretty much cover everything you need to know about tropical.

I use www.ultimatereef.net & www.thesaltybox.com for all my marine keeping info and buying!

As above, Ultimatereef and the salty box are the best places for info about marine fish keeping. If you do go for marines though, whatever your budget is you will need to double it

BTW - don't let my previous comment put you off marines. Unless you go for an SPS dominated reef tank then it isn't THAT much more difficult than fresh water, and the fish and corals are so much nicer so it's definitely worth the extra effort
