have any of you on here suffered from running problems after fitting a induction kit?

especially on the 1.6 16v engines?

I really can't see how an induction kit could give you running problems. All they do is give your engine air more easily, ideally engines would have no air filters. Any flat spots will even out gradually as the ECU adjusts itself over time, or you can sort them quick by resetting the ECU.

where u put ya foot down and the revs stay constant for a 1000RPM incident or so, or rise slowly compared to normal acceleration

Max Power/Revs/Redline dont have a fucking clue what they talk about. They are complete tosh. Dont put an induction kit on yet, wait till you get a better aftermarket inlet manifold. Get a K&N panel filter and drill the underside of the airbox. Supply a cold air feed to the new holes and prepare to be impressed with how little money you spent and getting good gains.

Where the revs stay constant for 1000rpm!? That's a real contradiction in terms!

But yeah, in answer to the question above, flat spots are where the rate of acceleration decreases. I don't have any noticeable ones above 3000rpm, that's with a 1.4 16V Ecotec with PiperX cone and I reset the ECU (which made a negligable difference!)

Get a K&N panel filter and drill the underside of the airbox, would drilling the under side of the airbox induct more engine bay heat
