Ok so i dropped my phone!   
 
The screen has smashed, but all is still working. Am i better off going through my house insurance or repairing it myself? 
 
only thing im vaguely worried about is the phones warrenty as its only 6 months old

£40ish if you get it done at a market stall type vendor. For a 3GS that is.

I have a 3gs - i'll try some of the local shops in that case - been looking online at the screens, i'd be happy enough repairing it myself but im just not greatly inspired by these kits that are either £6 or £40!

Claim on insurance for sake of like 20 quid.  
 
If not, they are simple enough to do, but a little fiddly, and will void warranty, which on a 6month old phone you wouldnt want to do i doubt

Is it the glass front or the LCD that's gone? It's actually very simple to replace both of those parts yourself and you can buy them from Ebay for very little money, you usually get the tools to do the job with the replacement screen.
