Surely you can unclip the whole knob when its pulled out by sticking something in that little hole underneath?

use the guides section on how to remove the console... there are 3 bulbs in there... two for the heat and direction which bleed onto the power and one that goes inside the power for the illumination for the rear heated windscreen... considering how chep the bulbs are... and how much of a pain the job is to do... you might as well replace all 3 bulbs at the same time so you'll have to do it less frequently.

u dont need to remove the console to replace that bulb!
3 of mine have gone im just waitin for a dry day and some time to change em, but the heated window one is located behind the switch.
Pull it out and u can se the bulb behind it at the top of the hole. Pull it out and replace it VOILA. 2 mins done.
