looking throught japanese performance mag with my pal and saw this 1.6 16v CRX that simply had a custom exhaust and a induction kit and a mugen ECU - this raised the power to 186bhp from like 130 which i think u will agree is quite amazing. now as my pal already has a k&n and a exhaust it is obviously an attractive idea to get the Mugen ECU and get like an extra 50bhp for nuthing, the only problem being that i have no idea where to get one or how much it will be - a second hand one wud be ideal.

anyone know anywhere that has one or how much they cost new or where to get one from etc?

anyhelp much appreciated

Not entitely sure if they ship to the UK, but i'm sure I can remember them saying that I do.
Also, the mugen chip will not add 50bhp. It was probably a VTi CRX with 160bhp standard

50hp gain? Those power figures are bullshit. Plus you can't map a mugen ECU... they are very much designed for a jap spec engine, with a filter, exhaust, & thin headgasket. Nothing special at all. The cost a fortune too. I don't think mugen ever made an obd0 ecu, or at least they haven't made them for a long time.

I rekon jap performance mag does know what they are talking about where as I dont so i cant argue with you, however that is what it says, and I still wanna know where to get one from regardless of weather or not the increase is that much.

Well companies like vspec developments can chip a pre 96 standard ecu with a mugen program, for around 200 notes or so. This is not an official mugen ecu, but apparantly the mapping is the same... you can also get custom maps in this way, but it means a new chip every time you need to change the mapping.

A unichip is probably a better bet.
