Theres only 2 of us in the house and get fed up of washing dishes. Seen a second hand one from a nice old lady (so been looked after) for £30, will it do for a few months before we can afford a slimline to go in the kitchen? Are they any good? How do you fill them with water? As if it had to be from the mains pipe it would look kind of silly underneath the kitchen units

When I move into my own place I have every intention of buying a dishwasher and that will only be for one person.

I don't actually mind washing the pots. Not really a hard job in my eyes? Take like 5mins to clear the bowl.

I do have a dishwasher tho, but still...

I've a dishwasher for just me and I wouldn't be without it.

Doesn't matter if she's a nice old lady or not, seals and motor components still fail with time and usage. I've recently had to strip mine down and clean it all because it wasn't emptying properly.

Assume that buying used means you'll need to have it in bits fairly soon after you buy it. That said, I picked one up for my workshop for a pound and that is fine except the mains water solenoid had failed. I had one in stock from a stripped washing machine, job done.

Sounds like a funny story Ian, possibly costly

Said no to it in the end, we will just buy a slimline to go under the counter, an old table top would look stupid in this brand new kitchen anyway, especially with pipes trailing everywhere, stick it on an Argos card and pay it off over 6m, ta anyway

Never understood the need for a dishwasher, you could have the washing up done and put away by the time its taken you to fill the dishwasher.

Anyone know who does a wide selection of slimline/worktop dishwashers?

Not got the room for a full sized one and not seen any suitable ones for my needs.
