hi, just bought a new car, corsa sport 1.4 16v, v reg. in the manual it says the oil can symbol can display intermitently when ideling. which is what mine is doing, but it also comes on intermitently when driving, only at very slow speeds and low engine revs, like 20/25 mph.
the car has oil init so it isant on for that reason, only other reason could be oil pump packing in or dodgy oil switch. what do you think? also where is the oil switch on these cars?

your oil pressure could be down poss head gasket check under your oil filler cap for mayo like stuff

just checked that, nothing like that there, had a look in the vauxhall manual that come in the pack for the car and it says its normal for the oil can light to come on intermitantly when ideling at low engine revs and when the car is warmer. but mine does this when moving but only if the revs are very low, at just under 1000 rpm. just wondering does any one elses corsas do this on here?

yea, that dont sound right. mine never did it! Are the levels okay and everything? it may be the oil pump on its way out ... may need a new sensor.

Mine did this and was the switch, but also was the oil crank seals. Check for potential oil leaks also.
