I got some new mirrors in the post yesterday and put plastic primer on them, and I've put some layers of blue paint on, but it ran out (fortunately I got to finish that layer first). I'm getting some more tomorrow (got to Halfords just as it was closing ) but was wondering if I should rub it down a bit first before putting a couple more layers on, because I was doing it every 15 mins earlier.

Also, should I rub it down before putting the lacquer on? I didn't on my eyebrows and they came out ok (perfect colour match), but these are a bit bigger and it would be more obvious if they were a bit off.

To put a long post short, should I rub my mirrors down before a) putting more colour on and b) before putting the lacquer on? Cheers

Maybe I should have searched for that thread earlier

I now realize it's probably really, really wrong

What I did was put plastic primer on then just sprayed colour onto that, I forgot that I was meant to put a lighter colour on before the colour because we don't have anything other than Arden Blue (which is now empty), California Red (Ford colour) and lacquer.

I'm guessing I should probably rub it off, and get some primer tomorrow as well as some more blue

It's a shame that I've already put like 6 coats of colour on it, but oh well, it'll be better off. They look alright now, but would need a couple more coats to get it a brighter colour.

Ahh well, I'll just sand it and start again tomorrow Might as well post pics now I have a thread
