Recently done the conversion and the engine is massively overfueling. I never got a fuel octane plug with the engine so could it be that?

Went to the scrappy today and the C25XE had been crushed so I got a selection of other fuel octane plugs. The one that seems to work best is a White 98 plug. Also replaced the lamba and it seems better. But its still overfueling a bit.

Have you had it on a wideband to prove its overfuelling? The coolant temperature sensor is normally the cause if it is actually running rich

I don't need no fancy guage to tell me that the car is using WAY too much fuel . You can smell it and the way the engine behaves is enough.

Its the exhuast fumes that stink of fuel, and its fine once you give it some but its just when idleing and trying to go slow. Going around asda carpark is impossible as it just judders to fuck and me look like a twat

I've also used some other leads which I know to be good and it still does the same.

Would normally be the coolant temp sensor or the AFM. Do you have an engine management light on?

Yes but thats another fault with the car as the EML flickers and my fault code reader just displays "ERROR!" when ever I try to connect to the ecu.

Just because it smells of fuel and makes poor MPG doesnt mean its overfuelling. I think i saw your other thread about the flickering EM light.

The ECU light wiring is dead simple, theres +12V on one side of the bulb when the ignition is on and the other side goes to a brown wire with a blue stripe down to the drivers footwell. This wire just needs to be connected to earth to make the light come on.

The brown wire with blue stripe matches up to the same colour wire coming from the LET or XE ECU. Check its connected right and the insulation isnt broken and its touching earth

I'll check the wires tomorow but I'm sure they are good connections.

You've done a conversion I take it?

My guess the diagnostic plug isnt wired up correctly. You tried the paper clip test to see if that does / does not work?

Yes did it myself, had B3KAN help me with the wiring. Not done a paperclip test due to not knowing which pints to short out.

Or

Depending on which plug you have. Thats if the wires to the ECU have been matched up colour for colour

Just done a paper clip test, but I need to shorten the video. How long would a typical test take to get all the flashes in?
