I have recently bought a 95 SRi as a project car but the first thing I have noticed is the gearing is very low, 70mph is buzzing along at 3500rpm and 80 is screaming down the road at 4100rpm it is really wearing. Does anyone know of a gearbox fix/swop to raise the gearing? Help! I am desperate.

sri has f13 gearbox putting an f15 would stop it screaming.

is an f15 a straight swap for an f13???
can you just change the internals?

I have a 1.2 currently and mine does 3800 at 70.
Am looking at doing a 1.4 conversion, but in relation to the above, am not really clear on what those boxes are from

Does the sri have a f13cr? i had a f13 and fitted a f15 but im sure the ratios are near enough the same but its a stronger box.What i wanted was the f15 with a lazy 5th gear = 140
