half an inch wideness difference in the rim!!

not sure why it would cause it to rub if it was the rim being wider but the tyre being the same?!

i got 6.5 inches wide rims i guess this puts the rim half an inch more in then normal et30 offset actually making the offset like et48 as one inch is 1cm. am i saying something stupid?

ET38 should be fine.

i have ET37 15x7 down 60mm and they never rub. thanks to some minimal trimming of the rear plastic...

you should be fine mate...

I think he means, if the front wheel is 6.5 inches and the rears are 7 inch, where does the extra half inch go? to the inside of the wheel or does it stick slightly further out?

I know what im tryin to say its just hard to explain it lol.

yeah that is what i mean where does the half inch difference go, because if the 0.5 spreads from both sides of the rim than i guess it would obviously change the size of how much the rim would stick out or in

Half on the inside, half on the outside.

For example, am 8" wide rim with an ET25 offset will sit 13mm further out towards, and 13mm closer to the strut than a 7" wide rim with the same offset.

edit - to get the above example to site the same distance away from the strut as the 7" wide wheel, you'd have to lower the offset of the 8" rim to ET12, then it'd sit an inch further out towards the arch, but no different on the inside.
