Do you have to put the engine complete or can I put just the bottom end and box in then build the rest of the engine up?

you can do if you want, but it makes life easier to do it all out the car.

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure what kind of clearance the inlet and exhaust would have.

ive done many many head gaskets on 2lt novas/corsas an its no different from anyother engine really.

The reson i'm asking is i'm going to put the engine in the corsa from underneath so i just thought it would be easier and lighter to do just the bottom end and gearbox. So i should't have any problems then mate?

Why not lift the whole thing in from underneath? thats how i did it

Because it is all in bits being rebuilt so i thought its somewhere to put the bottom end as i dont have much space .
