unless you get a plug // to blank it off... Yes.

Mine does but not even a little... If you get a mate to red line it once or twice you can see abit of smoke but under idling... No nothing comes out...

real perpos = to assist in warming the engine up when engine starts from cold.

and go get a 4-1 or 4-2-1 manifold for it.

nope never really need it, but i wouldnt run without it if you dont have a manifold with the hole blanked up tho, as its still a bit naughty and looking at the way the old manifold on my X14XE was it all links up to that hole.

cat will be warmed up by the exhaust gasses, but engine will need warming up as it wont atomise the fuel properly,

no it doesnt. it introduces fresh air into the exhaust to give better exhaust emmissions during warmup to comply with regulations. it doesnt warm anything up at all.

"the secondry air intake system introduces air into the exhaust manifold... increasing the combustion of hydrocarbons (better emmissions) and also increases the exhaust gas temperature therefore heating the cat quicker to reach its most effective operating temperature, quicker."

I have read that as well and its complete rubbish. Fresh air added into the exhaust system will in no way make the exhaust gasses hotter, I have used EGT probes to measure this myth and can confirm that the SAI system will make EGT (exhaust gas temperature) lower when it is switched on.
