You know the red wire to control the warm air valve to airbox.
Well have any of you completely removed this wire?
Does is have anything to do with letting the engine run a little rich?
Is it ok to completely remove this wire?
I don't know if it could be the cause of my dreadful fuel consumption.

but isn't that the same as removing it altogether?
why don't people remove it than block it?

inta, its much simpler to just block it up, its a vacuum pipe, so it measures the air pressure within the box to allow the valve to open and close, if you block it up, it will be fooled into thinking that pressure is high enough. Just bung a screw in the end and tuck it away.

But could be fuel consumption related, im not sure where the vacuum pipe goes, i expect into the inlet somewhere, and if it thinks that there is too much/too little cold air, then it will pump more fuel into the engine.
