F1 is quicker through the corners, it has the downforce and the fact its on 4 wheels.

Acceleration, F1 from 0mph, but say from 30mph, i reckon the bike would win to top end. And thats on the 800cc machines, not the ballastic missile 990cc machine.

RE the Barcelona track, maybe the persons might want to take a look at the MotoGP track Vs the F1 track... Theres only the matter of the 30mph chicane while the cars are at about 150+ and still accelerating.

Majority, F1 would win, but im sure theres 1-2 tracks the F1 cars would struggle against a MotoGP bike.

But lets face it, while F1 is faster, what would you rather sit down and watch Just take yesterdays F1 and MotoGP races (and even moreso if you watch a 125cc or 250cc race, VERY similar machines, all about the rider).

Probably posted, but the video of the F1 Vs Bike Vx boat was actually only a 200bhp British Superbike Vs and F1 car. You've got World Superbike, THEN MotoGP, so its a few classes down. Compare an F3 (2 classes down from F1) against the BSB, well, game over. F3 is a 2.0 16v engine.

THe currect 800cc's are much slower at peak speaks (tbh, very similar to F1, about 200-210 long enough straight provided), but the old 990cc's would take an F1 in a straight line. Those babies were hitting 200-210mph in straights only 800m long!!! Thats the reason the engines were downsized to 800cc, thyey were simply too fast.

IMO, ban all electronics, seperate the men from the boys again. Glad MotoGP is getting rid of traction control, F1 take note..

Yes, completely agree with that comment. F1 would be a lot more interesting!

Motogp getting rid of traction control? Where have you heard that?

My bad.... F1 is getting rid of traction control for 08, not MotoGP.

I think every motogp fan is crying out for it to be banned. But its whether the orgenisors can agree whether its safe enough for the riders (pffff, safe, you dont worry about safe when your hanging off the side of a bike at 150mph ).

stoner is quicker, as his bike is better, and his tyres are better and he's a good rider

Rossi is a genius, on a average bike, with crap tyres

its been said many many times, before his throttle control is so so much better than anyone else out there

if they were on old 2strokes 500 like they used to be rossi once again would be so os far infront of the championship

look at it a few years aho when rossi was on the RCV, every corner they would be spining up and sideays out of the corners, doesnt happen these days, your nail it, and the bike goes, levle of skill has dropped slightly

Thats due to the traction control/anti wheelie systems.

Was reading a really good writeup on it last week. Even Stoner said that he would rather ride the mad arse 500cc twins than todays bikes. The issue with the 800's and all the electronics make it so you choose your line into a corner, then the bike drags you round, and you just open the throttle to get out the other side, the bike does all the work.

Thats where the 990's had so much power it would simply light up the back hence all the bikes all over the place. The 800's have so much on them it stops the bikes looking out of control. In fact, this weekends race was by far the most "out of control" i've seen the bikes all year. Great race.
Rossi is simply awesome, but Stoners really coming on, he's the one to watch for the future (bar JT baby!!!! ). I've been watching him all year, he hasn't put a foot wrong on that bike. I wouldn't put Stoner far behined Rossi. He didn't do too bad on the satelite bike last year.

Rossis bike is behined everyone elses (even Honda have passed them), its just Rossi can work it. Look how badly Edwards has done this year.

On another note, Go Tech Tois Yamaha on the Dunlops Thats what JT is on next year, but with different tyres, and a more competitive machine.

Im very much looking forward to next year, in fact, I think were gonna go to the British GP and camp out all weekend

Turkeys hard, you have the long very very fast left handers that an F1 car can take at nearly full throttle, but the motogp bikes have the arse end hanging out and travel much slower.

4 wheels + £millions in areodynamics
vs
2 wheels, on the sides + £few thousand on areodynamics.

Current F1 cars are simply amazing the way they cut through the air.

But MotoGP is still far superior in terms of skill, excitement, and (for me) noise, and atmosohere.

Don't ever see F1 drivers chucking their clothes over a fence when they've won, or chucking their gloves/helmet over the fence.

When was JT announced as joining the Yamaha 2nd team?! Hope he does ok, not at all sure though it's obviously going to be very dependant on the type of bike next year.

Hope next year they do as you say daimo and fuck all the aids off, even something like back to the 990's would be better

About a week before the British round (Brands) WSB when he done the double. Thats why it meant so much, his last race at Brands for some time. And he hadn't won there since he was 16 years old.

He's off to the Tech Tois (current bright yellow Yamahas), but they've got new tyres, a more competitve engine, more resources. JT wouldn't have gone to MotoGP without standing a decent chance to fight. He won't win the championship, but we'll all be watching his progress, see how he gets on with the new tracks, new bikes, and a (IMO) higher class of riding. WSB is mentally fast, but MotoGP is that much more. Biaggi went to WSB and has been pretty competitive, he came from MotoGP where in his last few seasons, he was no-where at all.

It's completely different though even though the bikes are less raw, completely different feel to the racing also, mgp is much more professional imo.

The f1 car for defo, the bike can coener well but dont hold as much spped as the F1 cars do becausr of downforce,

There as also been a clip somewhere that said if there was no fia rules then even without a turbo there would a be a possible 1200-1500 bhp running a V12 doing upward or 300Mph

New skoolers....

Gardner, Rainey, Schwantz, Mamola, Haslem, those were the days before the 500 twins got redeveloped to be all soft and nice (about 1995 i think), before the even tamer V4 4 strokes came in.

No, i do vaguely remember watching Rainey and Schwantz battle it out till Rainey's horrific crash. I also remember Schwantz crashing at Donington, and grabbing an oil flag off a marshall! Maybe Doohan wouldn't have been as dominent if Rainey hadn't been paralysed??

There were 4-5 riders always fighting for the front (just before Doohan came in) in every race. 2006 season we got this back again as the bikes got closer, but the bikes this year have really shown that if your bikes that bit better at something, it'll thrash everything.

Schwantz was my hero at the time. Like Mamola though, always the bridesmaid, never the bride (till 05 anyway).

JT is our man, then theres llittle Bradley Smith (16) in the 125's. Got hopes for the little redhead
