A mate of mine has a 1.4 16v. He's got a 1.6 head, top and bottom inlets, injectors and a 1.6 throttle body.

I know the 1.6 head is different, but are the other parts? Will he benefit from running a 1.6 ECU?

Thanks.

no, he will effectively still have a 1.4 with slightly bigger inlet ports.

Will they have any effect, with or without the ECU?

1.6 and 1.4 tb's are the same.
Use the 1.4 injectors as no doubt the 1600 ones are larger than the 1.4 requireds.
No the 1.4 ecu will be fine, as its still a 1.4.

I dont think it would run aswell...

I ran a x16xel with a x16xe lower inlet and lexmaul on an x16xe ecu and it ran like shit, id imagine your mates would be worse!

x14/x16 injectors are the same.

it may gain minimal bhp over a standard 1.4 but not anything noticable.

also its best to stick with the 1.4 ecu.
