unbelievably gutted, why is it something always happens when you have no money whatsoever?
came out this house today to find what appears to be a lovely crack on my windscreen coming up from the scuttle panel about 2inches and then going off diagonal....couldnt see any impact marks where perhaps some 10 year old ned scum has chucked a stone at it...is it possible it could be some sort of stress crack? 
is it basically needin replaced? sorry for the shit pics

depends where it is. if its in ur line of sightt then it needs replacing, but if its on the passenger side it shud b ok

wants replacin mate as its a big part of the strength in the car. if your fully comp insuranve itl only cost you about 60 quid, good time to upgrade to a top tint screen to like i did

decided to call the insurance, gettin the windscreen repaired/replaced on wednesday...what you mean by getting upgraded to a top tint screen?

btw, see when i got tomorrow to get it replaced - will the new windscreen have a new rear view mirror on it or that?

That will fail MOT if its not replaced.
The new windscreen will have the clip for the mirror, they will just slide the old one on.
