Yes, you do need the bonnet open as there are retention screws on the leading edge plus you need the wipers off!

Isn't it obvious?
Take the wipers off, undo the screws that you can clearly see holding it on and remove.

No, you said you can't get the bonnet open without two people. Not that you can't get it open at all. Seeing as you can't get the scuttle off without opening the bonnet I would suggest you get on the phone and find some help.
