They have a pretty good block with larger water gallerys, though the internals of them aren't as good as the ones on the older C20XE's. The heads are a bit more restrictive and the management is designed to make the engine efficient and use less fuel. Saying that, you can change the internals, do some work to the head and use different management to get the power up.

Your basic mods like exhausts and air filters wont do a lot really, but that's the case with just about all modern engines these days
