What a pig of a job!

The belt started fraying because a cirtain local mechanic had not fitted the airbox properly on my 1.4 sport and decided to DIY it. wow! what a job! 3hrs down the line and the old belt not being removed I gave up and put everything back. While taking it to a friend of mine who is a mechanic th belt desided to tear it self up and wrap around the alternator

After sorting it out I fanally managed to limp it to my mates house (about ten miles away) and it's getting done.

[RANT OVER]

for future references, how would i get around to doing the job myself as there was a cirtain bolt that was trying my patience lol

Took me and my mate 2 hours!

Easier to drop that side of the engine apparently

Yes, and again with PAS only. Engine was in, mounted, plumbed and wired both times.

I was trying to drop the engine but somehow it it wouldn't. I removed the suspension thing and had taken all the bolts off the mount, still it wouldn't drop.

lost patience in the end because there was crud all over the engine bay from a dodgy rocker and it was warm on monday lol

@ Robin how did you do it so fast then?

I used a new tensioner both times.

Why would you have to drop the mount? I didn't need to
