My gearbox has broken, SHIT! ive towed it to my mates house and he has 2 diesel corsas, one facelift, one not and a L-reg astra 1.4 8v. will either of the gearboxs from them fit my 1.4 16v Sport- prefacelift. any help much appreciated A.S.A.P

Don't quite know whats broken! ive always thought that when ur gearbox goes, it goes gear by gear but this just went bang and jus makes clanking noise when i put it in gear! are u sure those boxes would fit because the astra is mechanially driven, not sure about the other corsas but mine is electic?!!!
*edit- the speedo is mechanically driven*

are you sure its not driveshaft or clutch!
The elctronic speedo on that year is just a screw on sender to the std box so any of those gearboxes would fit but be wrong ratio wise!
