I've been perusing the 'net looking for ECU code numbers/engine code compatibility and found this if anyone is interested: www.primaryfire.com/car/boschecu.doc
I am trying to source a new ECU because I'm not convinced mine isn't knackered. My current ECU is not stashing fault codes even though the car is misfiring....on diagnostic testing, one error code came up but not related to the running (Code 024 "No Speed"). I'm at a loss to why she's running like shit....got a new lambda sensor arriving tomorrow, I have a spare MAF sensor sitting in the boot just in case it's that. People have mentioned on here about it possibly being the AMF meter, ICV or CTS.
She failed MOT on emissions as I've mentioned in an earlier thread with the lambda readings going off the scale on the 2nd Fast Idle tests (both) and the HC is 7 times what it should be.
Could a faulty lambda create a rich mixture hence the misfiring? The oil stinks of fuel and I'm really worried about borewash so trying to run her as little as possible. Could it possibly be that the ECU is blown? My mate tried to jumpstart me and sent a jolt down the car (reversed polarity accidentally in the dark sigh..). Might this have blown the unfused ECU or does the fact it did report a fault (even though it wasn't the one I was looking for) suggest the ECU is okay?
I've had the injectors refurbed already for the record.
