No point, I see your after some serious mods. why not get a C20LET Standard. im not sure on the figures but its going to be cheaper in the long run compared to turbo charging a 1.4, and alot safer.

Looking at 3-5k depending on who you know to do it properly.

Looking at about 3-5k to turbo charge a 1.4, i know wich one i would chose.

Hope this helps mate

How much money do you have to play with?

Your going to need to get yourself a turbo, then an exhaust manifold that will fit it, then pipework to your inlet manifold, then probably bigger fuel injectors, then probably internal upgrades like conecting rods, pistons etc...

Won't be cheap and that engine won't take much more boost than 4psi as standard

edit: You dont always need to change the fuel injectors. On some setups people prefer to just add a 5th injector in the inlet pipework that only kicks in at a pre-determined rpm.

Check out M-Vaux. Not sure of the web address, stick it in google.

They do a kit. I'm pretty sure it's £1200 plus £500 for low comp pistons. Then you'll need management and mapping. That'll cost another £1000.

and that will give you what?

120bhp?

Standard C20XE will give you 145bhp with no turbo lag

X14NE?

Rods would be fine Mr Superlite, the pistons would need to be replaced with low compression forged ones.

You'd get about 155bhp with the right setup, but it'd cost you as much as a 200bhp STANDARD, unstressed C20LET...

Unless they did get an X14NE in India, in which case it would be low compression (which would make sense with the low RON number fuel) and better for turboing... Although you'd have to up the octane number to stop it pinking.

With proper mapping you dont need a 5th injector at all.
Just use higher flowing 4 injectors(maybe LET ones), afterall thats what mappings for(supplying enough fuel for given amount of air)
120bhp? lol
If i was to be turboing a 1.4 16v, i'd want to see a 100% increase in power, and if done right it will still be reliable(using proper pistons and management, not spacers and dodgy dual rate fuel regulators)

Maybe with a mantzel type inlet, flipped over and modified so it sits with the tb over the gearbox end of the engine(allowing easier routing of boost pipes)

But agreed, a c20let is a better/more sensible choice all day long. 280bhp from ph2 chips, and £800-£100 for the engine. A lot less than a turbo'd 1.4 would cost.

20XE injectors would be fine for it, they flow enough for about 200bhp, so there would be no need for LET ones.

You'd NEED a mantzel box, not a copy, a proper mantzel, as they're pressure tested, unlike any of the others.

It's just not worth the effort though, IMO.
