Do you have to use axle stands to be able to take off/put on shocks and spring on a B? Or can u just jack up one side at a time and do it? Cheers

one side at a time will do, just make sure the car is stable before working on it with it in the air

Best bet is to use a proper jack and then put a wheel under the car for a bit of added safety.

No way should you be doing it with a scissor jack

Go to halfords with £30 and buy a trolley jack and axle stand set...

You are mad if you go under the car with the crappy Vauxhall jack, seriously.

I'm going on 2 year old prices TBF, I paid £30 for a 2 tonne jack and 2 2 tonne stands.

I've used them more than any other tool in my garage.

Also i think theyre standard shocks with -40mm springs on them, once fitted to my car will the tracking need to be done? If so will it pass the MOT without the tracking been done?

It will pass MOT.

Best get it tracked though otherwise it'll probably scrub tyres.
