The Dbilas Flowtec Inlet from regal-auto.co.uk has two versions, one has "software" and the other doesnt. Does anyone know what this software is and do i really need it?

Its a remap of the ecu.
Gains are more with the remap, but it will work without.

If your planning future mods, don't bother with the software.
Maps are best done to the actual car the mods will be fitted on.

Yea, im planning other work for the furture so ill save my self the cash and wont get the epprom, how much is a map anyway?

ive got a 1.4 sport and was thinking of doing the same...and get remap after...was thinking of inlet manifold, 4-2-1 and dbilas induction kit...wots this gonna give me any think?

Not too bad then, how much BHP you think i could have after getting an x16xe, dbilas flowtec inlet, dbilas flowmaster induction, 264 cams, some headwork and a re-map?

what wud need replacing from a x14xe to a X16xe lump?...if its easy cud upgrade the lump maybe...more bore!! lol
