Thinking of getting a back box for my car, to tidy it up and get rid of the pea shooter. Decided on a back box as exhaust trims are gay

Anyway, has anyone experienced major insurance hykes when they have declared the back box? On average, what have peoples gone up by?

Also, what is a good brand, preferably with life-time warranty - don't want one that is really expensive, and don't want one that is uber cheap. So a mid-range manufacturer?

Oh, and the manufacturer has to do one for a 12v?

Thanks

ok, cheers.

Found a Piper exhaust on espdesign.co.uk, only 18 month warranty and the oval is more expensive could get a 3 inch so it doesn't look too fancy.

Are Piper any good?

Yeah, I checked the ESP Design ad in Total Vauxhall and it is mild steel with an 18 month warranty.

I wasn't looking to spend too much, and the Piper ones seemed cheaper than others, without going really cheap and getting universal, which I don't want to do.

Thanks for the info

I'm not really after an improvement in sound, just looks mainly, to get rid of the pea shooter. And I don't want to stoop so low, as to get an exhaust trim.

And if it isn't TuV approved, what does that mean?

Go for the piper mate. Ive got the 3inch round one on my 12v.

Insurance wise. A backbox falls into the 'peformance exhaust' bracket. So you pay the same insurance increase regardless if you get a backbox or full system.

Cool, thanks for the advice I might pop in to insurance broker, see what they say, as that is where I got my insurance. Will just say I'm having problems with a standard exhaust and exhaust fitter has recommended a stainless steel performance or something
