Ok the car is the corsa van.
Engine is the 1.4 multipoint.
Started up fine and was driving fine then just started coughing and spluttering til eventually it cut out and wouldnt restart.

Turns over fine but pops back out of the airbox and the exhaust.

Fuel pump is working fine I can hear it whirring away.
Also there is petrol in the car before anyone says that

Any suggestions please?

blocked injectors, leads, plugs etc

Could it be possible that the timing has jumped a few teeth?

Or is this highly unlikely?

I cant check for a spark at the min as i am on my own, but i am thinking maybe try new plugs and leads

prob all your cylinders arnt firing so ye check your plugs n leads

Sounds like the timing to me.Firstly check the pulley on the crank that the alternator belt fits over to ensure the crank sensor isnt reading the teeth wrong,secondly check the cam timing using the marks on the head and then report back!

cheers for the advice! Turned out to be a weak spark & a naff dizzy cap! Fit new one + plugs & leads 2moro...
