Right my rear quarter is a slightly darker shade of gold to the rest so im having my whole passenger side resprayed as there are a few chips etc anyway. its all getting done for 300 which i think is reasonable...
My question is will he have to flick it into the boot to get the colour match perfect or atleast to look perfect ? and also if its orange pealy or im not happy and he wont rectify do i still have to pay, im just a bit worried as i havent had this much done at a bodyshop before..

Probably best asking the the body shop that question, if he says it will match and it doesnt then dont pay him

I can understand what you mean.. I had a bonnet sprayed for me last year for free but the guy who sent it for me may of payed it i dont know. but it went to ireland to a guy that sprays and does repairs to his lorrys etc, when i got it back i couldnt tell the difference between my car and the bonnet, and i was worrying about it for weeks before i got it back. my car is 10 years old and the paintwork isnt that great either, but the bonnet was spot on. If the guy is good at spraying im sure he will do a good enough job matching it

Go for the work then mate, but try to get the word accross by saying if your not happy with it you wont pay or you want it redone. if hes good at his job and he messes it up he should notice it him self and just redo the work without you knowing

this is the type R bonnet and bumper he did...
Was a big naughty dent on the bonnet too and the colour match seemed good on it but then isnt black easiest to match

Went to the bodyshop today and he said he will be able to make it alot better than what it is but cant guarentee that it will be perfect so im a bit worried now but he said he will order the paint from citroen so it should be spot on as gold doesnt fade in the sun much....
So im still worried

rob, dont be too woried, hes only saying that to cover his back as the best of bodyshops cant get it right all the time
and if your not happy with it then you can make him do it again or not pay him,
£300 is a good price even though iam paying that to get both side of mine done but that because my mate owns a bodyshop so is doing it cheap

well he said he gets the laquer from germany stidox ? or something like that not entirely sure..
Ali-corsa, its a place called beautiful body repairs in tamworth
Oh and he did say he reckons there was to much black on the base coat, because boot, bonnet, bumpers, drivers side have all been done, but the rear quarter had a scrape and was done on the cheap IMO cause there are bits in the laquer etc..

Ask to see some work hes already done or try to get recommenations, a good garage shouldnt batter an eye lid about showing thier work if its any good. Dont just settle for the one garage try 2 or 3.
You get what you pay for with spraying and its never a guarentee if its going to be perfect, just depends how much you look at in as far as picking faults go
