my mates just got a new car n he didnt knw that u cant jst red line it if he wants to straight away, i sed u had to gradualy break the engine in basically, but i dnt knw how many miles does it take b4 he can push the engine

why do you have to redline a new car anyways :S cant you just drive without ragging its arse off?

personal view, but still

it aint me,i told him not to but he has just pased and i know wot he is like. i know wot u mean mate no point to it really ure jst gna blow the pistons and that...do u knw how many miles b4 u can push the enginge

you wont blow the pistons


ragging it is prob the best thing you can do in my opinion (sensible calculated ragging)

You want the rings to bed in quickly.

ive read about this and apparently the old method was 1500-3000 as engines were machined not so well in those days. Hard and soft running in its your choice ...

i had an engine with 32k on clock put in my sport gave it 900 miles before i took it over 3k, i have not had any probs but saying that dont reckon ive taken it past four so........

when i had my second 1.2 put in i gave that about 1k miles but even now, thats not been over 4k rpm

best way to bed in is NOT to stay at the same rev's, just keep going up and down rev range

say but dont go over 4000 first 1000miles
