Right, here goes I've got about £1000 to get more power from my 1.6 sport, I have pretty much have no knowledge on what to do to gain more power etc! So any help/ideas appreciated!
I'm currently running a 1999 1.6 sport with a pipercross air filter and it seems when i have 2 or 3 more people in the car it doesnt pull at all!
Cheers,
Chris

1k will cover bike throttle bodies and management.
That will leave you around the 150bhp mark.
More if you fit cams, and pocket your pistons.

Best way to go on a budget is Mantzel or Dbilas inlet manifold. The inlet on the 1.6 is vey restrictive. Without binning that theres no point in doing anything. Throttle bodies are the best bet if you have the money. Dave A can help you out with them

Inlet-£150
Megasquirt ecu-£200
Bike tbs-£100
Mapping £300+
That will give more power than a inlet box etc.

Ahh, ok. I've noticed i get more power in 3rd and 4th at about 3000rpm. Would like some low range power!

Mapping is your best bet for low down improvment me thinks.
Putting on an inlet might give you some 4000rpm power but low end might even suffer if the air isnt moving fast enough.
