when i lift off my accelerator at any speed really i can hear a knocking noise and the faster i go the faster it goes. i dont really know wat it could be, my brother says the wheel bearing
can anyone tell me if it is this or wat it could be please?
(ps. its a 1.2 16v sxi) thanks

wheel bearing normally grinds so doubt it will be that.

thats wat i thought but i havent really a clue tbh because the wheel bearing in my last corsa went...and this sounds different

can you hear it when the vehicle is stationary? if so drive train problem? bottom end ?

u cant really hear it when the car is stationary, it seems to be when im moving and not accelerating

does it happen more at slower speeds?
might sound weird, but it happened to me some time back and the problem was.........my wheel (NS) nuts were loose

ok, wheel nuts are fine
booked the car in for next tuesday for a full service and hoping this will get the problem solved
but for the mean time, anyone else got any other ideas?
it seems to be coming from the rear and it seems to have got louder. i really notice it when im in 3rd or 4th and not accelerating
help plz ?

i had this problem, last week mate, it passed its MOT and the guy pointed it out to me he noticed a bulge in my tyre, weried i thought but thts what it was. so i payed Ł33.60 for a new one

Could be a wheel bearing on the rear. Jack up the rear and see if there is anyplay i the side to side movement of the wheel.

yes but all u said is it sounds different. You could have some of the balls missing. and trust me it dos happen. We had a so called mechanic bring his car to us and the rear wheel was wobbling you wuld have thought i was about to fall off! No exageration at all! The wheel bearing was ompletely fooked in everyway.

ok, sorry i no wat i said earlier (doh lol). i took off all of my centre caps and got a new spider (the old one i used was rounded and wouldnt grip) and i found that 3 of my wheels were just on no more because the locking nuts were so loose 
sorted now, thanks everyone for the inputs

lol so thats all it was ? Some loose wheel nuts ? Glad you got it sorted, could of been dangerous.
