if i fitted - (nearly have the dosh!) a dbilas inlet manifold to my sxi - it says the gain will be 25bhp - not bad ey - over a 1/4 of the original power
with everything else on me car id say my car would be running 95 - maaaybe 100 bhp.
what contest would my car be for others - as im wondering if it's worth the price tag to kickstart my project
tah

Do DBials even do an inlet manifold for a 1.2?

I doubt that very much. I didn't get 25BHP from fitting an inlet to my 1.6. Your dreaming.

I'm sure you have heard this before but it really isnt worth spending that kinda money (any money) on a 1.2

it is very rare any single mod will give you big power gains, a manifold and performance exhaust may get you into double figures but that is the 2 together...

manifold wont do shit without a decent remap, so in total thats nearly a grand. Might aswell buy an X16 to drop in

My 1.6 has only gained 27BHP with head, cams, inlet and exhaust.

the dbilas manifold kit does actually includ ethe ocst of the remap u just gotta take it down there,
they did this in total vauxhall the other month
although that was fitting it to a 1.4 corsa c
but the point is its not extra power
its just freeing up the air flow
so might not giv ethat much actual power, but is a good starting point for serious tuning
was actually considering this myself
but have since had a claim on my insurance so cant afford it for a while yet
sorry kinda long

tut tut dont give half a chance. if it's acontest for 1.4 saxo's and all that now you cant just dismiss it because it's less than an let or sumink.
we'll see

but honestly is there any point in tuning a little engine...how far are you realistically guna be able to take it power wise???
id say you would be best of saving your money and either doin an engine conversion or buying a faster car...
there are very few little cars i would tune for eg...polo g40 or renault 5 turbo...the only reason being these can be taken quite a long way for such a little engine...but other than cars like these i would not even bother with a 1.2 16v...
