no licence needed just for screens but if you have tv or freeview say you must have a valid tv licence in your name, we had a guy after one in work so i rang them to check the legalities

So say a 17 year old had tv in his car but no tv license in his name but his car was under say his mums and she had a tv license would that class as legal?
If that made sense lol

Surely the licence has to be in the name of the car's owner on the V5 log book?

oh right sorry, i read it too fast, yeah if its in your mums name as the car is also that is fine.
