Hey guys, hopefully just a quick question, been out of the ICE scene for awhile now and basically looking for suggestions as to what MP3 Head Unit I can get for £200. Im not looking for anything with iPod adapters or anything but ive seen these that stood out.

Ive always used Pioneer headunits in the past but Alpine have always had a good reputation and that JVC one seems to be on a good offer

Can anyone recommend one of those, or anything for that money that youve heard good things about. As I said, its been awhile since the last headunit i bought

Yeh, i nipped into Halfords today to have a look at the interfaces of the Pioneer and Alpine units etc and noticed this one when I was there

It said that this was new for 2006, would this be the new model of the Alpine that you suggested? I do like the look of the Alpines and they seem to always produce quality although ive heard their newer models dont live up to their usual quality?

Cheers for the suggestions guys. Im considering buying the one i choose from over in America when I go over xmas. I know that here in the UK FM frequency uses 100khz stepping for tuning (98.7, 98.8, 98.9) and the USA uses 200khz stepping (98.5,98.7,98.9) Has anyone ever used an American head unit in this country? Do you see the difference in stepping being a problem? They're just so much cheaper over there lol

The radio wont work properly over here with out an adapter what are £20-40 last time i looked also it wont have any form of warrenty either and if customs stop you you may well have to pay import duties and vat on top

unless its something really really special i wouldnt bother

if you shop around online you can get some really good deals
