Well basically I'm considering a C20XE conversion but I want it to be reliable.
This is why I thought a rebuild could be a good idea
I wouldnt be doing it myself because I know sod all about engines.
To what extent would it need to be rebuilt to be reliable?

You'd be looking at new sensors, gaskets, oil and water pump, timing belt kit, bolts, and bearings probably as a minimum.
