45's are cheaper and i reckon the 40's are too small, so the ride will get harsher...

check my garage... the softstars are 16's on 195/45's and its lowered about 60ish mm

my 15" 185/55 scrub at -50mm, with arch bolt grinded off. has worn most the arch away! (only front)

Just to clarify, I had ET45 16s, with 195/45 16 tyres, down 60mm, with no scrubbing at all.

I had 4 people (inc. myself) in my car the other day and it didn't rub once, even when i went down a bumpy stretch of road... and i've done nothing to the arches at all, not even de-bolting...
