Nothing to do with 2500cc's and not a very heavy car?
My 1.0 12v wheel spins brilliantly in 1st because of such a light engine - I suppose using that theory yours shouldn't wheel spin at all as it'd a heavy engine.
Ahhh, I dunno.

maybe because if u get any slightly powerful car it will wheelspin into 2nd or 3rd if u boot it bad yres could be a factor i suppose

my 1.2 8v only spins in 1st but i think the 195 Yokohama A539s are why
but my metro gti used to spin in ever gear in the dry if u booted it it just hit redline and stayed there change gear and straight back to redline it went all the way to 4th, i had it spinning in 5th once but it was raining hard

get your tracking checked, if it is out, it will spin the wheels easier.

Check your tyre pressures, you may have too much air in them.

i wish users car was displayed under their names.
my c20xe corsa you can get a gr8 start with no spin in 1st if you get it right and into 2nd at 6K it will give a quick screetch as she grips. Torque steers through 1st and 2nd tho.

also replace the front tie bar bushes, made a massive difference on mine. stopped it bouncing etc!
shouldnt pull it all over the road tho
best way to stop it is learn how to drive and learn some throttle control!
