basically the prob i have with the corsa is, i was driving along comeing upto a round about in my estate as i approached the round about the car lost all power, me not knowing to much about engines thought it was the cat or something as it was a really loud clonking type of sound and loss of power.
I took all the plugs out 3 being fine 4th one was fcuked the electrode (bit in middle of plug if ive got wrong term) has completly disapered into the block so i replaced plug and fired her up and it idles all over the place then dies and cuts out. no ecu light coming on when i fire it up tho but is running on all 4 cylenders im pretty sure as only sounds rough but thats expected with a tiny bit of spark plug inside the lump. any clues what to do next?
Much apprciated mikey

unlikely that something hit it, might have got too hot or running lean. sounds like it might have got trapped under a valve and damaged the seat and leading to loss of compression.
see what the damage is and try and get in touch with ngk, might as well see if they will pay for a new engine
p.s brosters the man to speak to regarding blagging new engines from big rich international companies

i've heard of something similar sounding to what you described happening to a bmw 3 series. with some rubbish in the piston chamber bein pushed up and braking the spark plug.
would be well worth getting it checked out properly by a mechanic, cus if part of the spark plugs fallen into the engine, it will make a complete mess of the piston head.

NGK technical are very good, if you send them the old plugs they will probably tell you what went wrong and you can go from there.

I doubt very much its a faulty plug. NGK plugs are top notch.
It sounds as though it has burnt the tip off so i suspect it has probably burnt a valve too. Any pictures of said plug?
Also head has to come off by the sounds off it!

basically i put a new plug in, when i turn it over it is making a metal like noise inside the engine. the revs idle at 900rpm upto 2k then drop all the way to about 100rpm then cuts out but no engine managment light on now.
