I know this sounds like a novice question but how often is your cambelt supposed to be changed?

ahh, I think its every 40,000 miles or four years whichever comes first! Can somebody just confirm this for me please.

u sure, my car has done 67k and is due a new one now, its not done by miles, i think its done on age!

mine had done just over 80k and had to have it done and thats 7 years old

Both - its something like 40k or 8 years, whichever comes first.

average milage for a car is 12k per year so would reach just over 40k in 4 years so all in all i think the second post in this thread is correct
