I'm looking for a good 40mm lowering kit that is good quality, with good handling but also not upsetting the ride quality too much, something like eibach or KW?

I will have a budget of around £300 to spend.

All help will be much appreciated!

The car is a 1998 1.6 Sport. Will the 40mm be a real 40mm on my car, or only 25mm as it already has factory uprated suspension?

thanks guys!

you havent got uprated suspension.....
its all a myth.
i dont clearly understand what your asking??....yes a 40mm drop is 40mm.
and yes an eibach/kw kit will give u a better handling....but all suspension setups compromise ride quality

Yes, but I have heard that the Gsi and sport models had suspension that was lowered 15mm than other models, which is why i asked about the drop.

Some compromise handling worse than others, such as I have heard that Gmax and Pi create a very bouncy ride.

Which koni's Rob?

Do they have adjustable damping?

Are these the ones on your old Brocade shell?

What did you think of them in general, ride quality and handling wise?

Thanks mate

you can get a brand new -40mm koni kit for 350

best suspension i've ever had, sit nicely, dampers are adjustable, so you can have them quite soft too.

handling was amazing
