I have got a Corsa Gsi and have got some 16's on it at the moment. I was thinking of lowering the car but i don't know how much i can lower it by without having to get the arches rolled to prevent rubbing from the wheels. The wheels are 195x50x16.
Could anyone tell us how much i could lower the car by front and back.

You can probably go down 40mm before you need to think about arch work. Providing its decent offset.
