just spent the last 4 weeks building a engine (x16xe) up because the ring in my old one were knackered... so i put the engine in the other night cranked it over and it was ok but wasnt firing and i ended up flooding it so i took the plugs out dried them off and put them back in... tried cranking again and it was tryin to have a go but it wouldnt (it did have spark) so i thought i cud meby tow start it so i got my dad to pull me down the road and it just started rattling so i diped the clutch took it home and it had no compression checked timing marks and they were right... so took head back off and it had bent all th exhaust valves and number 1 cylinder had snaped both shattered my piston... can anyone maybe shine some light im missing driving my car and i know i could swap a piston out of my other engine but i just dont want the same thing to happen again...

dont think you had the timing correct, thats why it bent the valves!

To be fair, my engine in my car was totally re-built by vauxhall (Before i bought it)
Wen i came to put all my engine bits on, i decided to check the timing and it was at least a tooth out ! And that's by vauxhall !! If ur gunna do it, defo do it urself, i did mine and now its awsome
