Hey my car started to overheat, theres two things i think could be causing it, i havent got my camera on me so paint is the best i can do Sad
Ive got a Corsa 1.4 16v Sport Ecotec

The first one there is this little thing and one of the two thing that branch off has snapped off and the bend doesnt push on anymore, it also make alot of hissing so it must have something to do with the air.
Anyidea what this is so i can replace it ?, it also make the engine idle higher when disconnected.

Also the rocker box gasket is seeping oil can this cause the engine to overheat ??

When i say overheat i mean it gets to 100 and i stop.

does the temp guage go up when you drive if so its the head gasket

sign of head gasket going

uses loads of water boils the bottle dry
ticking over is a bit dogdy
just does not run right

does the fan come on when it goes up to 100??

the rocker gasket its just common and will not cause it to over heat
all though check the dip stick

carnt figure out the diagram maybe im pissed

that looks like and sounds like the 1 way valve on the brake servo hose. the 2 take offs are vaccum hoses, if one is broken then the sensor or solenoid which is attatched wont be working correctly anymore.

This is unlikely to be causing the car to overheat though. rocker gasket isnt linked either, thats a common problem.

1. replace that valve asap.
2. check you have enough coolant in the system
3. check the thermostst is working
4. check the fan switch is working
5. if the above is beyond your abilities then stop driving the car until the overheating problem is solved. if the headgasket decides to go you could do even moe damage and warp the head or even worse.
