god knows if this is right section to post this but....

am looking at a red 1998 S reg sport 1.6 to replace my 1400 P reg.

I'm not to keen on red but if its cheap enough i'm not gonna complain.... how bad are they for paint going pink? What's you experience with them? I can keep my current black one looking like glass with meguiars cleaner wax etc.

also do they have remote central locking? they say key fob doesn't work for it at the moment.... i'm kinda thinking they might just have a the 'torch' key with little LED in it thinking is remote locking???

plus is there anything that can be done about a lost service book, they say it has been serviced by local vaux dealer but have lost the book... will the dealer have records?

as far as I know they don't have remote central locking.

If they had all the services done at a main dealer, then that dealer should have records of it on their computers.

Also, ii you look after the car enough, I don't think you will have any problems with the paint going pink. As long as it is polished often to resist the effects of UV in sunlight, then you shold be fine.

do they go pink cos of oxidation on the paintwork?

ie. can it be removed easily with something like meguiars quick clay bars?

It has regular central locking, maybe remote has been fitted. They have air con.

I owned a red Sport for a year and it was washed weekly and polished at least once a month. Check my garage.

A/C is more common on 1.6's but became more common on later 1.4 sports. More often than not, S reg and newer Sports have A/C.

as far as i can make out, it was a choice of either air con or a sunroof on sport models and im not sure if GLS was same?? I have a 1998 product brochure telling of what came and what didnt and what could be added on as upgrades and so on and so fourth...if I can get it scanned in would it be worth whacking up onl here somewhere?

I keep your theory up to date - I have a sunroof.
Scan it in please, I really want to see what could have been on my car.

Definitely not, the only corsa that came with standard front fog lights is the GSI.

look about as standard as 20" rims on a corsa lmao.

although owner thought they were standard as it has the right switch for them but she hasn't seen any others with them on (wonder why)

Yep, definitely not standard! So she might not be a boy racer, but I bet the last owner was!
